Report on Microsoft Azure Workshop

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology Engineering organized a workshop on Microsoft Azure on 18th of March, 2016 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm in the Third Block Auditorium. The guest speaker for the occasion was Mr. K KRathiMircosoft education Partner.
The world of internet is growing exponentially because of inclusion of new applications and simultaneously launching of new websites. It is very easy to make a website or an application but the maintenance of server & web server is invariably difficult. It requires continuous attention and hands on practice/training regarding the fundamental requirements for monitoring such activities in the severely competitive internet world of today.

Microsoft provides a platform with Azure that enables one to rapidly deploy websites, mobile services, notifications etc. in an efficient manner in a short period of time. Microsoft Azure is not only platform independent but flexible enough to support even various non-Microsoft technologies. Therefore, a workshop cum Training Session was organized for enlightening the student and exposing them to the latest technology.
The one day event was exhaustively covered with live demos and technical presentations on techniques to use Azure cloud for adoption in one’s business architect.

This interactive hands-on session covered the topics such as:

•    Creating Virtual Machines (Linux and Windows)
•    Leveraging the Cloud for websites
•    REST-based services
•    Data Storage
•    Open Source Technologies on Azure

The keynote speaker of this event was Mr. K KRathi.

Microsoft Azure is available on Microsoft’s cloud platform, eventually Microsoft claims that Azure has a growing collection of integrated services like computer, storage, data, networking, and applications that helps one browse faster, therefore, do more work in less time, and that saves money.
Azure Cloud platform can be used both for infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS). This combination of managed and unmanaged services can help one build, deploy, and manage applications in a reasonable amount of time.”

The workshop was a great success as it provided an insight about the cloud computation. We look forward to more opportunities for more projects and practical experiences.
